I took a walk with my camera this morning and eventually ended up in neighbor's yards to capture the morning light on their beautiful flowers. Mostly, these neighbors were away from home and were none-the-wiser. And as I was finishing up my last flower shots a couple, that lives around the bend from me, drove by and waved (at their strange neighbor that can't seem to leave her camera at home). Now, they don't have any flowers in their front yard, but they do have a big patch of weeds on the egde of their lot full of Queen Anne's Lace. I've been interested in getting a good image of that... so I waded in to the weeds that were up to my armpits and got a few of the QAL. Well, just beyond that was this little beauty sunning on a leaf. Just a few more feet in... I'm now covered in pollen and who knows what, but I've been wanting a lady bug to blip for a while and they seem pretty scarce around my house. (I've seen 2 all summer.) He was a good little poser, never hiding and moving around enough for me to get several angles. Then eventually coming right up to me and that's when I snapped this. When I got it up on the computer I had to laugh. He really does appear to be telling me off...

I used my macro today, but really wanted to have the whole bug in focus. So I moved back to increase the DOF. Therefore, this baby is cropped in a serious way! I liked the results, and even with the major croppage (I made that word up) it looks okay large.

The humidity broke today and it's cooler. So I think a dog walk is next on the list... I hear a faint whining coming from the front door area... Hint, Hint, Hint... ;)
