Castell Conwy

Conwy castle (the title is the Welsh) - taken from the platform of Deganwy train station, across the estuary.

Imperial power, 13th century style. Built by Edward I in 1287 as part of the 'Iron Ring' of fortification intended to subjugate the Welsh - it's now a world heritage site.
