Smoking on the Balustrade

After the bandstand concert with Charnwood Concert Band this afternoon, I fancied scooting around the Carillon for a bit and exploring the park, somewhat to Len's annoyance as he wanted to get home. The scooter managed the ledge on to the platform that seats the Carillon tower where I spotted these two lads sitting on the balustrade sharing a smoke. The flower towers added a nice frame.

I managed to get on to a path without hoisting the scooter off a ledge, and was accosted by a smartly dressed man who I vaguely recognised. He knew me from having seen me at St Botolph's. It turned out that he was the director of the band so I was able to tell him that we had really enjoyed the programme of music that afternoon and that he should badger the council to give more publicity to the event.

I'd also had a nice chat with Malcolm who had been sitting in front of us. Len returned with the coffee and remarked that I'd picked up another man. We all laughed.

I was able to fit my new Kase filters on to the camera and took a photo with the polarising lens but couldn't really tell the difference much on this cloudy day.
