Dolly's Day

FOOTIE SNACKS

Had a quiet day at home today. Weather was dry but dull and chilly. I wasn't tempted to do any gardening. In any case someone nearby had a very smoky bonfire going so it wasn't very pleasant outdoors.

I had some eggs and ham to use up so I decided to make some mini quiche muffins to eat while I watched the football match this evening.. As well as eggs and ham I also used cottage cheese, mushrooms and shallots. They were very tasty.

The match started at 5pm - England V Slovakia. Two Newcastle players featured -- Kieran Trippier for England and Martin Dubravka for Slovakia. ( another Newcastle player Anthony Gordon was stuck on the bench --- again ) England were on course to be knocked out of the tournament until Bellingham scored a last gasp goal in added time to take the score to 1 - 1. So extra time was played and Harry Kane for England scored the winning goal after only one minute. Final score was England 2 Slovakia 1. So England progress to the quarter finals.... but they don't really deserve to. They haven't played well in any of their matches. We will see what happens when they play Switzerland next Saturday..

Ive also watched the other Euro 2024 match today - Spain v Georgia. It was a much more exciting match than the England one and Spain won 4 - 1.

Steps today - 3,132
