Deep joy

Deep lake, although shallow in some parts,
for a leisurely swim this morning with EmCoops. Deep joy.

As I was driving back on the A10, I made a last minute decision to go and see if anything was going on in the church building. What another source of deep joy (and a bit of a tear jerker to be honest). Some wonderful friends of the church plant team turned up, offering time on a precious Saturday, to make huge progress on the front garden, where the grass surrounding the church was waist high and the flower beds thick with grasses and weeds. It was a deep joy to see them, work with them and just treasure them.

Back home with another speedy turnaround to smarten up and head to West Lodge Hotel for a dear man’s 70th birthday surprise party. I was able to sit next to one of my school gate bestie’s mother in law. It was a deep joy chatting to her for a few hours. I don’t see her often but over the 2 decades I’ve known my friend Sarah, I must have met Wendy a dozen times.

A late night (& early hours) as we had to wait for our big car to be returned by some young people who had borrowed it, so it was a deep joy eventually getting to bed. :-))
