Rural parish

No he wasn't calving a cow!  Once a year there is an open air service in a field  with a view near the village except today the morning was cloudy and damp with drizzle so we had it in a neighbouring farmyard with cows mooing and the swallows darting about, and with a picnic to follow.  Not quite as many people as last year but over 40 - last year was over 70 because of the warm sunny weather.

It was granddaughter I's party today with 20 other children.  There was a bouncy castle in the garden and barbecued hotdogs followed by a tractor and trailer ride into the wood to eat ice creams amongst the trees - the children loved it as the ride was all a bit of a mystery.
