Bukhara

This morning stepped outside our hotel into the historic Lyabi Khauz complex, which has the oldest reflective pool in Central Asia. It is surrounded by medieval buildings, including the Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasah and Khanaka. Also on this morning's visit list is the Poi Kalyan Complex, with its 157ft high Kalyan Minaret, which has come to symbolise the city; the Kalyan Mosque (288 domes), Samanids Mausoleum, Ark Citadel, and Chor-Minor. The temperature is unbearably hot at around 43 degrees so staying indoors is the only sensible thing to do this afternoon.

In the evening we walked back to Poi Kalyan to see it illuminated.
