Party time!

This afternoon, our local RSPB Group celebrated our 50th anniversary in style, with a tea party for about sixty Members and guests. One of our members, a former  professional baker, made three cakes, which another  member then iced. She has created  a pair of Avocets on one cake , a Dartford warbler on the second, while the third shows a scene  of some of our local countryside.
There were a few short presentation about the activities of the Group over the years, followed by a video from Chris  Packham congratulating D, one of our Members on his long service to birding (especially working with young people). Chris and  D are old friends. We also welcomed B, a very long standing old member  aged 93, who had arrived with his daughter. Then there  was a raffle and quizzes to do while enjoying  tea and chat.  I think we all agreed it had been a most enjoyable  and memorable afternoon.
