Kaybees Bits

Front, Back & Centre

I did a lot of sanding on the dish today.
It went better than I expected I have to say - although I was interrupted by next door asking a favour which consisted of cutting a short length of dado rail. Not a problem and a 5 minute job .... not taking into consideration the bandsaw blade snapping! Luckily I had an old one lying about and although it is blunt (no idea why it was hanging up) it was fine for the job in hand.
New blades have been ordered.

Although the dish is not fully dry (quite wet really) I put a coat of tung oil on it to see how good the grain patterns are.
It is 12 1/2" across the widest point.

I did get into the garden to try and get some shots using the x2 convertor on the macro lens.
Very heavy and unwieldy I have to say - not helped by a breeze and me having to bend down in an awkward spot/manner.

The flower pictures and a couple of close-ups of the wood grain are over here.
