Now, as I see it......

257 Squadron

I had a drive down to the Mid Norfolk Railway at Dereham this morning.  They had a guest engine for their steam gala weekend that I wanted to see; a Southern Railway 'Battle of Britain' Class engine No 34072 '257 Squadron'.  The railway was celebrating its reopening all the way to Wymondham after having to spend a lot of money replacing worn out track.  Unlike the North Norfolk Railway, the MNR can't rely on tourism for a steady stream of income so that has been a major expense for them.

I've added a couple of shots of '257 Squadron' as extras but I actually preferred this shot of one of the resident engines, and one of my favourites.   A tank engine built in 1954 at a cost of £17,364.  Odd to think my car cost more than that new!
