Unmistakeable
I finally got round to going up to my patch today - it’s been ages since I got up there. I didn’t see anything new but there was a good selection of birds, including quite a few loudly singing Skylarks and a brief sighting of a brown hare. Most surprising was 3 Lapwings in one of the lower field, which had just been cut. They are such unmistakable birds with their iridescent plumage, swooping flight, distinctive call and curved crest.
