Dark headland

Duart Castle was standing proud on its dark headland as I sailed past on the ferry today, bound for a twelve day adventure with two friends. It had been a tearful goodbye to Bertie a couple of hours earlier but I know that he will be well cared for by my dear Nick. I hope I will have lots of interesting tales to tell them on my return
NB The name Duart is derived from the Gaelic for “dark headland” and the castle belongs to the clan that I was born into - MacLean.
