Is this good to eat?

While Sally was having her last knee rehab, I took the dogs for a walk around the lake in Roath Park. My friend, the heron, was at his usual hunting ground in the shallows, now covered in green algae. He was constantly  striking but I’m not sure what he was picking up. It seemed pretty small fry but it was maintaining his interest.
