Agogo....(granny)

with her grandson!

This morning I left at 4am to drive to Mazabuka (5 hour drive) to visit the ECD centre and check on the toilets that are being built there!  Just as I arrived this lovely Agogo was bringing food for her grandchild.  She was able to tell me how pleased she is with what her grandson is learning at our centre.  She herself only went to Grade 5 of primary school because in those days girls did not usually have the chance to finish school, so she is delighted that her grandson will have that chance!  Such a privilege to talk to such people!

I had to leave mid afternoon to return to Lusaka because the accommodation I was supposed to stay in had no room (they had double booked).  My journey back to Lusaka was awful - took almost 4 hours.  There were so many trucks on the road - its a single lane road.  There are a few road blocks (police were out in force with speed cameras) and just as I reached Lusaka it was rush hour traffic so I sat in gridlock for an hour!  Happy to be home again though!
