Give something of yourself

Today, after some years of plucking up the courage to try to give blood, I went to a local centre. I had tried some years ago, but was refused because at the time I was having acupuncture. This time when I enquired there were a lot more questions asked beforehand. I had to fill in a health form on line, then someone rang me and asked more heath questions. So I thought nothing could go wrong, surely they had covered all the questions?
It's not a straight forward journey by public transport, so I thought I might as well walk, it would only take me about 40 minutes. I had mentioned this on the phone and been advised against walking home, so I arranged for a lift. I arrived early, had my health form checked by the first nurse, drank my pint of water and then saw the second nurse, who again went through the health questions. I had answered 'yes' to two questions, so a third nurse came to go through it with me again (by this time I was getting a bit fed up). My mother had angina and I had been to the GP because of some chest/back/neck pain, I had an ECG so heart problems had been ruled out, nothing more was said. BUT, because of this, I could not give blood today! I now have to wait for a letter from my GP saying I DO NOT have a heart problem before I can go back again! I kept telling her it was WIND! But I need a GP's letter to confirm that and further investigations, maybe!
But I don't have a heart problem, I have a case of trapped wind! It was like talking to a brick wall. Sadly, I will not be going back AGAIN. No one can say I didn't try.
