Kendall is here

I was too slow....

They both spotted me. So much for stealth photography. I smiled as she looked up; she smiled back, and the dog, who appeared willing and happy to serve as a table, wagged his tail.

One pleasure of this day was an article in the Guardian this morning: evidence that Neanderthal people took compassionate care of the vulnerable members of their communities, unlike the culture I live in. Capitalism had not come to them. They had not traded their souls for the illusion of wealth; they had not brainwashed their children to compete with each other nor to measure their worth in terms of productivity for bosses.

The company I paid to test my DNA tells me I have 93% more Neanderthal DNA than all their other customers. Maybe that’s my problem: born 40,000 years too late to find my people. On the other hand, as Mother Shipton points out, I have been gloriously successful in finding soul mates. You know who you are.

In other news of the day, a physical therapist has diagnosed left shoulder rotator cuff tendinitis. If it’s not one damn thing it’s another. More physical therapy exercises called for.
