Nectar-Thief

Apparently the silver spotted skipper, a butterfly, consumes nectar but does not pollinate. He prefers shady areas and avoids yellow flowers. I discovered him amongst the pot of zinnias on the deck, visiting the red, orange and pink ones, but never the yellow ones :) • A day of long overdue little chores in the garden. The mostly cloudy sky made it much easier for trimming and weeding, although the sun popped out when this was taken. I also planted “Miss Manners” in the butterfly bed, purchased yesterday. She has tall spiky stems with white flowers. She’s very cute • DT and Presiden Biden are debating tonight, and I’m not looking forward to it. As Bill Maher recently said “I will vote for Joe Biden even if his brain is in a jar”, or something like that. I hope I haven’t offended anyone. It’s a critical election that makes me ill to think about • Peace & Love
