Hutton’s Unconformity

This is the rock formation that led in 1787 to James Hutton proposing the earth wasn’t 6000 years old, but immensely more than that. I won’t bore you here with why, that’s what the internet is for! Jude looks bored with it too.
A day of wild weather so decided on a coastal walk rather than tackling Goatfell. The coast path and coming over the hill on the way back was bad enough. But another feather in Jude’s cap I suppose.
