Seeing Beyond Looking

A Glorious Day

What can I say? The weather was wonderful, the humidity was down and I dropped everything and took the train to Vevey. I already went there once this month with a friend. It was so enjoyable and the steamboat was beckonging to me!

On the train, I saw a young man, his face told me that he was in his early twenties. He was carrying a professional looking tripod and a big hefty looking backpack. I asked him if he was going on a photo shoot! Yes, he said and I asked what camera he had. A Fujifilm said he, just like me! So we spent the rest of the shortish journey talking photography! He told me he had the X-T4 and I have the X-T3.   That was a fun exchange!

After walking all along the lake, I went to a little place I know where they make very delicious salads, then another walk back to the port where I purchased my boat fare. In came the beautiful boat and we were a big group of people, including a school outing of rather noisy young teens!

I sat outside on the deck in a shady part on the side which shows the wonderful vineyards on the way back to Lausanne. Another lady on her own came to sit on the same bench and we struck up a conversation. Nice!

I didn't know which photo to put up as the main as I believe I almost love them all the same!  I think the colour of the water and that little cloud made me choose this one.

Extras:
- Passing what looks like a small castle, vineyards everywhere
- Déjeuner sur l'herbe, name taken from the famous painting by Impressionist Edouard Manet
- Il dolce far niente (the sweetness of doing nothing)
- Arrival in Ouchy with the Swiss flag flying nice and open at the stern
(this one is for Vicki as we recently talked about flags)!
