Aztec calendar
The original stone from which it was copied is in the Anthropological Museum of Mexico City. It is one of the most beautiful designs of the Aztecs. The stone has a diameter of 3.65 meters and is 1.20 meters thick. The weight is 22 tons. The disks symbolize the 20 days of the Aztec calendar. The stone was discovered in 1790 beneath the central town of Mexico City. The stone was designed for the sonnengott "Tonatiuh" which can be seen in the center.
