Sleeplessness

It was very warm overnight, necessitating a fan in the bedroom.  When I woke the fan had overheated in the night and the air was still, warm and tainted with a dusty, burnt smell.

I overpaid for one I could take with me that, it transpired, was missing screws to attached it to a base that did not fit together well and came with a remote control without a battery.

After a short but hit drive home the place I'd purchased it from was already closed and I struggled to stay calm trying to put it together with screws I borrowed from other sources.
