A Survivor

My neighbor across the cul-de-sac has pretty roses with amazing fragrances, but she absolutely gives them NO care. They have black spots and rust, they haven't ever been pruned or deadheaded. But they are in full sun and do have a little water. The roses are winners! 

Ellie came over today after Vacation Bible School; she and her grandpa needed a peaceful place to spend the afternoon. I talked to Ellie on Facebook tonight: she calls me when she needs to calm down from something stressful; I am glad she can express her frustrations. Life is complicated for this little 6-year-old.
