The day of the jellyfish
No. 1 grandson (age 7) has been staying with us and started showing an interest in photography yesterday. Today I lent him my compact digital camera again and we went for a walk down towards the village. He took close-up photos of all the different flowers we saw and a wide angled shot across the loch.
When we came to the Shire Bridge we stopped and looked over the parapet. We spotted about five jellyfish of different sizes and stood watching them for a while. What graceful creatures they are. A passer by told us that he had seen about 50 at Helensburgh Pier.
No. 1 grandson and I took lots of photos of the jellyfish and he commented that he didn't realise they were so transparent. I have to admit that his photos were every bit as good as mine, and not only does he now want a digital camera, which his skills merit, but he is also wondering who runs camera classes for kids in Glasgow. So that's birthday and Christmas sorted.
