Castle in the sky

This is actually a reflection (in a bus window) of Loafers Lodge, a 92 bed boarding house in Newtown that was destroyed by fire in May last year. Five residents died and twenty were injured. The remainder of the residents were then homeless, but helped by local community organisations and the public of Wellington. It was a terrible tragedy, and we are constantly reminded of it by the fact that the building, such as it is, is still standing. A court case is pending against a man charged with arson and murder.
