Andy Murray Wimbledon Champion

An easy straight sets win over the top seed and world number one Novak Djokovic 6-4 7-5 6-4. Now I don't want anyone arguing with the term "easy".

In the very first game Andy had three break points on Novak's serve, but that'd have been "too easy" and Novak saves the break points and wins the opening game. In Novak's next service game again he saves three more break points, but on the fourth Andy breaks and he's 2-1 up, but this is "too easy" so on Andy's service he gives Novak three break points back and he says thank-you and it's 2-2. Then 3-3. The seventh game and Andy gets another three break points says thank-you back and he's 4-3 up and holds his serves to win the first set 6-4.

Second set and just to make it not seem "too easy" Andy goes 1-4 down, but are we worried? Excuse me you hiding behind the cushion, are we worried? Of course not. Murray breaks back and it's now 5-5. Novak serving and Andy's got two break points. Novak saves the first, wouldn't want it to be "too easy" would we - but Andy takes the second 6-5 up and then serving for the set he's 40-0 up and then an Ace, that's the second set 7-5.

Third set, first game, Novak serving goes 0-30 down, back to 30-30, then 30-40 then an exceedingly dodgy line call Andy's certain it's out - challenge, it is out, Andy breaks then holds his own serve - two sets to love up, two games to love up, this really is far "too easy" Andy. So let's lose four games in a row to pretend it's not quite so easy. It's now 4-2 to Novak with Novak serving for 5-2, but hey, Andy has it all under control. Again Andy gets two break points again Novak saves the first, again wouldn't want it to be "too easy" would we - and again Andy takes the second 4-3 to Novak. Andy holds 4-4. Novak serving and yet again Andy gets two break points, but no messing from Andy this time. Takes the first he's 5-4 up. Serving for the championship he's now 40-0 up - three championship points, it's virtually all over.....

.....but wouldn't that be far "too easy". 40-15 two championship points, nah, still "too easy" 40-30 championship point. C'mon Andy, No!!! Deuce. C'mon Andy, No!!!! Advantage Novak, break point. Big serve, phew!! Deuce, C'mon Andy, No!!!! Advantage Novak, second break point. Cross-court forehand, phew!! Deuce, C'mon Andy, No!!!! Advantage Novak, third break point. Big forehand, then volley, phew!! Deuce, C'mon Andy, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! A fourth Championship point. C'mon Andy, A big serve, the crowd think it's a winner but Novak returns it deep, Andy gets it back deep, Novak nets Yes, Yes, Yes, YES!!!!, Andy Murray Wimbledon Champion.

I hate to think what would have happened if Andy had lost that final game from 40-0 up, I've no idea how he managed to hold himself together and save three break points. Sue Barker in her on court interview said that last game was tortuous to watch. Andy's response "Imagine playing it"
