Up at a reasonable hour for the main event, a six-hour workshop at Scotswood Community Garden in Newcastle. A better view of the Angel of the North was had from the top of the lane leading to and from our hotel (extra 1) than can be seen from the A1.
Scotswood began almost 30 years ago on part of the playing fields of a former school whose fabulous Art Deco building is now listed
The workshop was both educational and inspiring, they have some really lovely details including a mud kitchen for little folk (extra 2). We were finished shortly after 4pm and then it was a straight 5-hour drive home. Tired but very happy.
