An ordinary life....

Cloudbusting...

Had a very interesting gynae consultation today.  My Consultant is still off so it was another Consultant who saw me.

The discussion was full, frank and I feel ultimately positive.  I was spoken to as an equal and I felt he really listened and understood my situation.  We discussed my treatment plan over the last four years and all the various ways forward.  He was completely honest with me about risks and outcomes and it was like a fog lifting and things became much clearer.  Long story short, he thinks the best way forward for me is a full hysterectomy and I agree.  He advised there is currently a three year waiting list but given my situation and uterine cancer risk, I would be operated on at the end of this year.  That focussed my mind.

Of course he isn't my Consultant, and she may have a different view, but ultimately I expect the decision will be mine.

Once back home I spent a little time in the studio then after dinner I spent time in the garden.  There was a strange atmosphere as it was still warm but mono-toned dark grey cloud cover making the light very flat and dull.  The antics of two wood pigeons amused me for at least half an hour, as they bounced around taking turns at playing hard to get.  A real comedy courtship :-) I was feeling a bit overwhelmed after my earlier consultation and a quiet hour in the garden with this pair of comedians was just what I needed.

Onwards and upwards :-)
