A cool to middling day. I probably should have achieved more but what with the ground being wet and the sky being blue…

Paid the local refuse tax, got a key cut, went Lidl hoping to find their super cheap weather station. Came away with a doormat instead. Reminds me of the Fast Show sketch. And then on to the Coop - am trying their own brand red bitter aperitif which is half price of Campari.

Watched England wrestle a draw from Slovenia (pop. 2m). Maybe the lads will come good in the knockout stage. There’s a wealth of talent there but so far no unifying vision of the team they could be. A similarly youn g Italian team have been somewhat faltering but you get a sense of where Spalletti is trying to get them. It will be interesting to see who goes furthest.
