Room With a View

We drove home (from Cannon Beach) through Astoria, stopping at least twice to switch drivers, and when we got home we took a nap. Boy, all that sun and air and walking wipes you out.
We didn't stay overnight here, but I want to stay here sometime. The Cannery Pier Hotel is situated way out into the mouth of the mighty Columbia with great views. Wouldn't it be grand to stay here on a cold, stormy, winter day, sitting on the deck watching huge ships go by? Then darting back inside to warm up at a fireplace! I'm not even going to look at the price, but I do have a major birthday coming up in December. Hmm.
