The second half of life..

Like a pig in.....

Woke to the distinctive thrumming of horses galloping by.  That's what you get when your campsite is at a race-ground.....early morning stable-hands giving the horses their work outs.  Luckily for all, not too cold this morning.  With the potential for a day ahead of thumb-twiddling I set about using my time effectively. Laundry - tick.  Email catch-ups - tick.  Fuel - fill-up - tick.  Banking - tick.  Tootying - tick.  Just when I started to think I might head to the local beach a phone call letting me know Gerty's 'medicine' had arrived and I could pick it up....it was 2.00pm so well before I was expecting.  Yay! On the road out of town and back towards the mountains by 2.30.......perfect.

I'd seen these pigs on the drive in and when I saw them again today it was an easy decision to stop and photograph them.  Lots of grunting and snorting, many of them layered in mud, straw and other unspeakable messes but I still thought they were pretty cute.  Funny how I came all the way down here to photograph mountains and scenery and I take pictures of pigs caked in muck!

Drive on and, given the weather is pretty mild and I figured there's zero chance of a hoar frost tomorrow, I've decided to stay at an NZMCA campsite on the shores of Lake Tekapo tonight.  Only about 45 minutes from Twizel so an easy cruise back to base tomorrow.

Early start again tomorrow - England v Serbia.  I do hope they perform better than the last match.....
