Grisedale

Good views up the Grisedale valley

Relatively quiet for our walk which was mostly on Patterdale Estate land.
we saw.
Juvenile Dipper, Pied Flycatcher taking food to a nest, Juvenile Great Spotted Woodpecker, A Pair of Redstart with very good views of the Female - young ones calling in the woods. Spotted Flycatcher next to the road on the return down the hill.

Glenridding was very busy with a special event for fitness fanatics on Jenkins Field next to the steamer pier. Teams of 3 men and 3 women lifting weights, jumping up and down, swimming, paddling running here and there - they were having lots of fun.

We saw a Swift entering a nest at one of the buildings on the Estate and a good dozen overhead in the evening.
