A talk today

I had book group here this morning; we are choosing books with numbers in the title to correspond to the month so last month we read Five Days at Memorial, a journalist’s expose of what happened at a major hospital in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when doctors had to make huge calls about patients evacuation. Interesting, especially the first half which documented the chaotic scene at the hospital; not so much the legal aspect after…

Then we went to hear Rick Thompson talk about his book ( above) which is lovely and charming although clearly touches on river pollution and flooding issues.Nice lunch at Holland House too :)
