Sacred Ibis - Threskiornis aethiopica

This bird was foraging for food amongst wind- fall fruit in the Botanical Gardens in Sydney. Neither as exotic nor as unusual as you might expect, these wetlands birds are actually quite common as scavengers in some urban locations in eastern Australia, and also quite tolerant of humans - so it is relatively easy to approach them.
