A Hairy Beechnut.

…from below.

Geordie, Amber and I walked in Hamilton wood this morning, where we saw a grey squirrel washing itself on the path ahead of us. Then further on we spotted a roe deer, or rather it spotted us and ran so it caught my eye. It was just on the other side of the burn and ran down the field parallel to us until it found a place to cross. It always brightens my day if it starts with wildlife.
When we left there we headed to Arncroach and Gillingshill reservoir to see if there were any swans. There were none to be seen, after we ploughed through an absolute jungle of undergrowth. The Council have obviously totally given up maintaining the paths. It’s so disappointing.
It’s been a beautiful sunny day, with a breeze, so the dogs lay around the garden in shady spots while I read.
Amber’s folks picked her up late afternoon.
