Gigantic....

.....eventually! I was very pleased to see the gigantes beans powering their way up the supports - even a couple that had their growing tips nipped off by someone are putting out new shoots from further down. I got the seed from Stef (long retired blipper!) - they seem to be a type of runner bean, although you don't eat the green part but wait for the gigantic (truly) white beans to ripen. They're butter beans, I guess....

When I was up on Friday I realised I'd left my gardening gloves lying on the path - I taken them off to pick some strawberries. When I arrived this morning, one was still there, but no sign of the other. The fox is the prime suspect of course - they do seem to like a rubber-y thing they can chew on.
