Re-Wired
I've got so many projects running simultaneously, that I'm in danger of dropping the ball!
The day started early, despite yesterday's late night. The first thing was dealing with the delivery of the car parts. This shipment has taken so long. Today, I was informed what the customs charge was. It was double what I had gauged for, so long story short, I didn't get my package. I will deal with it next week.
Next, I heard from the workshop who have my gadgets. They sent through links to websites where I can buy the parts I need (a battery and an IC board). I got dressed and headed out to bring home the other three items. G came with me, so we did a small grocery shop before coming home. I have to record here - I am amazed that the guys in the workshop allowed me to bring my things home without paying anything. They prefer to settle up when they deliver all the devices.
It took a couple of hours, mainly because of tidying up and discovering things I'd forgotten about - like my Roy Orbison (and other artists) Greatest Hits CDs!! I got everything wired up and put back neatly, and then - the moment of truth. Switching on the amplifier to see if it works. It DOES, and it sounds as good as it did when I first got it (back in 1996!). It turns out that it just needed a good clean. Too much dust had got on the contacts. It might sound silly to some, but I have saved myself loads of money and held onto devices that are in perfect working order.
We enjoyed listening to some CDs, and then, as I have a new gadget that I can connect to the system using Bluetooth, I streamed music from my phone. Yay! It was fantastic to have proper music again in the front room. G is really pleased. We ended the evening watching a few episodes of Monk. Our friends last night were talking about it. It was good to re-acquaint ourselves with the series.
