This is not the veiled lady!

Many years ago we visited Chatsworth house and my main memory amongst all its splendour was the statue of the veiled lady.

We visited today as part of our walk with friends around the Peak District . It was still there but in a recess which didn’t show the detail below the carved marble which this alternative figure does… I hope!

Marvellous! Or marblelous?
