A Stranger in Our Yard

As my daughter Anna and I came home from the grocery store, I saw this frog in the front lawn. He hopped onto the sidewalk and I told Anna to keep and eye on him as I dropped the groceries and ran for my camera.

I have never seen one of these, but after doing a little research have decided it must be a Wood Frog (Rana sylvatica). Apparently they are quite common here, but usually in more wooded areas.

Anna has been coming over on Tuesdays to watch the show Twisted with me. Kylie Bunbury plays one of the main characters, Lacey. Kylie dated my nephew for a few years and then went off to California to see what she could do as an actress. She got some work with Disney and is now on this show on ABC Family. We are very excited for her, and think she is doing an awesome job. My nephew has since married a wonderful young woman, so all is good!
