More roses

I headed to the valley today to pick up some plants. A client/friend wanted some water hyacinth for her pond, and since she can't travel now, she gets me to pick them up. A friend sells them at half the price you pay in the garden centers. Plus it gives me an excuse to go shopping at one of the nurseries that I don't get to every trip.

The nursery I went to has display gardens, it showcases the plants that they sell. Plus her husband has a landscaping business and it showcases his work. The owner is a tiny woman, she is about 4'10" and weighs maybe 90 pounds soaking wet. But she is strong. She gets up on the back of my truck to help load it then jumps down over the side.

I stopped at a couple of farm markets too and came home with a couple of loaves of bread, some treats and a couple of boxes of valley strawberries. The boxes were full too, unlike the ones I have bought here in the city that are about 3/4 full. They made a nice snack as I was driving home. I also bought some biscuits and had a bowl of strawberry shortcake tonight.

Rain in the forecast for tomorrow and Monday, we shall see what we get.
