BBQ

On what promised to be one of the first days of summer but didn’t quite deliver (a bit like the Dr Who finale) we had a BBQ at church.

As befits our soon to be. New congregation of Newington Trinity, we had three reasons. The first was to welcome our visiting Minister from Georgia USA on a pulpit swap along with her family. The second was to bring the three merging congregations together for a social event. The third was to mark the end of term as schools break up.

We had ceilidh dancing, cake, strawberries, games, teas coffees juices and of course Burgers, sausages and lots of salads. While the sun was not splitting the stones it was mild and at times warm.

I was in charge of the 2 BBQs (one for vegetarians). We were catering for up to 100 and with a team effort delivered everything cooked and on time. We used the ovens in the kitchen to pre-cook but it still took a while to finish off on the BBQ!
