Family
Today I was sent a picture of three of my sisters (so half of them), who had just finished two stages of the long distance path "Pieterpad". Obviously we (nearly) all share the same genes. I too like to walk long distance. E.g. from utter South to utter North of Germany or from West to East; I finished the first, the latter is still in progress, although I try to connect the nearest borders. And those who follow my sister B, known here as blipper Birgit, will see her cycling a lot, also long distance.
My picture today was taken when I had a look in my pedigree. The three walking ladies were pictured with a fourth lady. Family for sure. But I had to ask who it was. It is one of my cousins.
I for sure don't know all my relatives, but cousins you should know, right? Well, excluding the 53 descendants of my parents, my maternal grandparents had 97 descendants, and my paternal grandparents had 29. A total of 179 persons. Add all the spouses/partners to this number and you can imagine that the sheer number is just too high to know all.
(And I probably don't know them all, as the number is growing.)
