Lake Murphy

Wandering in the mountains this afternoon, we stumbled across this little gem of a lake - also known as Lake Butterfly.

There are miles and miles of dirt roads that weave through the mountains behind Alpine. We didn't have a proper off road map and were relying on a regular road map which didn't serve us too well. We took one side road where we found this delightful little lake and climbed way up a mountain side until the road ran out. The fresh, sparkling clear mountains streams, wildflower meadows and tall, tall firs were just magical.
