Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Spoke too soon…

The promised summery weather did not quite reach us today, though it was dry, and if dressed correctly, warm enough. We'll take that...

I did not sleep well last night. BOTH arms were quietly aching. I'd lie there, trying to decide which one was most sore. I think - my right arm, where I may have dislocated something - it certainly 'clicks' when I try to move it backwards, eg to put on my jacket. I thought it might just get better if I ignored it.

I went and got my ear buds and listened to podcasts for hours. A very interesting one from 'Stuff You Should Know' on the birth of Wikipedia. Also, an interview with AJ Hackett, the Kiwi who 'invented' bungee jumping.

And so, I've done nothing today. Though we all set off across the Meadows and I decided I didn't want to go any further, and JR decided she wanted to go into town instead. Archie did not have a say...

I've been watching tennis and football. And of course, catching up on my beauty sleep.

Yes, these daisies are ready for the chop again soon. And yes, we spoke too soon re the dreaded cone...

PS Hazel’s epic cruise finishes tonight, sailing in to Dubrovnik in the morning.
