King’s Cross

We went to King’s Cross to meet hubby’s sister, hubby and daughter of the train from Edinburgh.

We were supposed to have lunch together then leaving the boys, have a girlie trip to Youngest’s so they could meet the new baby.

However, one derailed freight train near Huntingdon meant the whole train schedule was shot and we had a 90 minutes wait.
The station was so busy with people and trains were being cancelled all the time.
We bought coffee (which I then slopped over my white top, numptie, found seats and spent the time happily chatting to a stranded traveller. Interesting man, a fertility/gynae consultant specialising in multiple baby loss.

By the time the family arrived, we knew there was no time for the baby visit so we went for a very late lunch at a nearby Gail’s before they headed off.
They are the parents and sister of our opera singing nephew so they, as we did two weeks ago, headed off to Holland Park to see him perform.

Nephew is treating his sister to a trip to ABBA voyage the following evening.
Lucky them!
