Tracy

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Cyclone Tracy hitting Darwin on Christmas Eve 1974. The Museum and Art Gallery has a great permanent exhibition including recreations of TV and radio programs playing in recreated living rooms in the lead up, a pitch black soundbox (someone recorded the wild sounds of 210km/hr winds, rain and sheets of corrugated iron scraping on bitumen), film footage, newspapers and photographs.

Some temporary extras: another exhibition pic, Fannie Bay.
