Banded demoiselle
This was identified by my trusted work colleague as a banded demoiselle. I guess, as soon as I described the coloured wings, it probably gave the game away to anybody that knows about identifying damselflies (I don't!).
It was spotted at Sandford Lock, Sandford on Thames, Oxfordshire. Very common and so not worth getting too excited about, but then I have never photographed a damselfly before and so I was a bit excited. I could've got the eyes sharper (I did better with this one), but I am pleased at an initial stab without the luxury of a macro lens. See it bigger here.
