Jeju port S. Korea

Does the earth need wings to orbit the sun?  This unusual metal sculpture, seen just as you exit the port, is a sphere representing the earth (you should be able to make out the outline of the Americas) and something like large butterfly wings on top of it.  Strange but interesting.
