Geranium (Cinereum Group) "Ballerina " cranesbill
This rather striking cranesbill is flowering in my mother's garden. I must remember to take a plant home with me,as I am sure it would grow well in my garden, too.
Another busy day. We visited my aunty's flat late morning and did some more sorting out, as well as catching the neighbour with the aberrant washing machine. She said they are getting a new washing machine next week! It's clear they want to get the decorators in as soon as possible to cover up the stains, but I suggested we allow the wet ceiling to dry out fully before we assess the damage to see what remedial work is required. Also they need to find the exact root cause of the water leak and fix that to avoid repeat leaks. It may be the waste pipe rather than the washing machine which is at fault.
This afternoon we had my mum's old neighbours in for coffee. They keep an eye on her house and garden. They are so kind and thoughtful. Their son cuts the grass. (actually he enjoys doing that using his ride on mower! )
Later, we were invited to supper with C, one of my Aunty's friends. It was a lovely treat for us, and it was a most convivial evening.
C has an old tortoise, too, called Bill, whom she inherited from her late husband a few years ago. We met Bill a couple of months ago, but tonight he sent his apologies as he was having an early night.
