The Peacock Caterpillar

The nettle feeding Peacock (Inachis io) which is gregarious in it's early stages and is a resident in the UK. I saw this caterpillar this morning feeding quite happily on a juicy nettle leave.

I have never seen one of these before, hence it is the blip for today.
