Look who we've bumped into

We knew these friends had come over to France in their vintage Bentley but we were surprised when we discovered we were either side of the Col de Larche pass and heading towards each other.

We stopped in a lay-by to wait for them to pass.

They stopped and we brewed coffee while we compared notes.

The weather has been dreadful for them and they were completely soaked.  The 99 year old Bentley however seems to relish the weather and was purring along.

We are now camped in Barcelonette where the weather is cold and wet.  We are moving on to Provence tomorrow.

PS. as well as being the Summer Solstice,  today is the exact midpoint of our holiday.
